The easiest way to get started with Google Compute Engine is to create a virtual machine instance and use it to host web content.
Each instance has either a Linux or Windows operating system. Select an operating system for your new instance. If you aren’t sure which operating system you need, we recommend that you follow the Linux Getting Started Guide.
